Ohio State’s “Rivalry” Uniform for Michigan Game Unlike Those of the Past

It seems to have become yet another tradition that goes along with the greatest rivalry in college football: Ohio State Buckeyes vs.  Michigan Wolverines.

The past few years, Ohio State and Nike have come up with a new uniform for the Buckeyes to wear when they meet rival Michigan on the last week of the season. The Buckeyes have worn alternate uniforms against Michigan three out of the last four years, and it looks like they will continue the tradition this season. They are expected to wear an all-white Nike “Rivalry” uniform that includes the same helmet with the wide stripe down the middle that is featured in their home “Rivalry” collection. The white pants will feature the Ohio State stripes down the sides.

It’s nothing like the alternates the Buckeyes have worn the past few years against Michigan. Last year’s is very similar, but the other two looked more like throwback uniforms and seemed to get some criticism. This one is just the road version of the home “Rivalry” uniforms that we have already seen the Buckeyes wear earlier this season against the Wisconsin Badgers and Penn State Nittany Lions.

The new uniform was confirmed today by Ohio State officials, which is no surprise since they have already worn a version of the uniform twice this season.

This seems to be yet another great tradition to go along with this great rivalry. Hopefully Ohio State and Nike will continue to come up with new uniforms that are designed specifically for this rivalry for years to come. I think it adds even more to the greatest rivalry in college football.

“The Game” will take place on November 30 in Ann Arbor.
