It looks like the UCLA Bruins will be contending for a BCS bowl berth this season and they will be relying on teams ahead of them in the rankings to continue to lose while they continue to win. The Bruins have won three straight since losing two straight to ranked teams — their final two games come against ranked teams as well.
Just like the Bruins, the Arizona State Sun Devils are looking to make a bid for a BCS bowl. The Sun Devils are 8-2 on the season and fighting to keep first place in the Pac-12 South division. Arizona State will clinch the division and a berth in the Pac-12 title game with a win in this one.
The Bruins have been led all season long by one of the best sophomore quarterbacks in the nation. Brett Hundley is the leader of this team and a Heisman candidate as well. Hundley has passed for 2,384 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season, hitting Shaquelle Evans 36 times for 524 yards and seven touchdowns while also leading the team in rushing with 502 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Paul Perkins is now second on the team in rushing with 476 yards and three scores.
Arizona State is led by one of the best quarterbacks in the nation as well in Taylor Kelly. The junior quarterback has passed for 2,838 yards and 24 touchdowns on the season with 10 interceptions to go with it. Jalen Strong has been Kelly’s top receiver, catching 59 passes for 834 yards and five touchdowns on the season. Marion Grice leads all rushers with 901 yards and 14 touchdowns while Kelly is second on the team in rushing with 312 yards and seven touchdowns.
Defensively, the Sun Devils rank 45th in the nation in points allowed per game while also ranking 25th in the nation in yards allowed per game. The Bruins rank 40th in the nation in points allowed as well as 50th in total yards allowed per contest.
Arizona State will travel to UCLA to take on the Bruins at 7 p.m. EST on Saturday, Nov. 23. The game will be broadcasted on FOX.
