Auburn Knocks Off Alabama, Tigers Could Find Themselves In the BCS Title Game
The Alabama Crimson Tide may have been playing one of the top teams in the nation, but they were still expected to come away with the victory, win the SEC championship and then win a third straight national championship. Well, none of that is going to happen now. The Auburn Tigers came away with a wild victory in the Iron Bowl and will be playing in the SEC championship game. They may also find themselves playing in the BCS title game.
The Tigers are ranked No. 4 in the BCS standings. After this weekend, they will more than likely move to No. 3 in the standings, but there may be a chance that they jump Ohio State, despite the fact that the Buckeyes are currently No. 3.
That is just speculation, though.
Auburn could also sneak into the title game with a win in the SEC championship game. All that it would take is for Florida State or Ohio State to lose in its conference championship game.
Whether the case, what a crazy day in college football. I am sure fans all over the world are shocked by the outcome in the Iron Bowl. I didn’t even think it was possible for Alabama to lose. Not with how good the Crimson Tide have been all season long and over the last couple of years.
Alabama is not going to make the national championship game… unless if some sort of miracle happens. Auburn, on the other hand, has a chance to make the BCS championship. The Tigers are the SEC’s last hope at keeping the conference’s streak alive when it comes to winning the title game.
