The Big 12 saw a major upset in Week 6 when the then-No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners got tripped up in Fort Worth against the then-No. 25 TCU Horned Frogs. With the Sooners’ loss, the Big 12 race is wide open and many teams will be taking their shot at the top in Week 7. With only the Kansas State Wildcats out of action this week, let’s take a look at a packed Big 12 Saturday schedule.

West Virginia is a team on the rise with both losses this season coming in competitive contests against top-10 opponents. Texas Tech, meanwhile, has been a major disappointment this season and is on a three-game losing streak, including back-to-back losses to open their Big 12 schedule. Expect the Mountaineers to put up some points in a big-time road win.

Prediction: West Virginia 49-31

Texas has scored the second-fewest points of any Big 12 team this season and topped 20 points just twice against North Texas and Kansas. You have to score points to beat Oklahoma and the Horns just don’t have the firepower to stay in this one. Look for the Sooners to roll in the Red River Rivalry Game and avenge last season’s loss and get back on track following their Week 6 slip.

Prediction: Oklahoma 31-13

Toledo at Iowa State

After losing their last two conference games, Iowa State will wrap up their non-conference schedule this week with Toledo coming to Ames. Despite Toledo’s 0-2 record against non-FCS non-conference opponents, they will be not be pushovers for the Cyclones. Iowa State has looked competitive against three top-25 opponents in their first five games and those close calls should help them secure a win in this one.

Prediction: Iowa State 24-21

In a surprising top-10 matchup, TCU goes on the road to try and beat their second-straight top-5 opponent in Baylor. The Horned Frogs made a statement with their win last week over Oklahoma and a win over Baylor this week will put them in the driver’s seat for the Big 12 title. They’ll have their work cut out for them with a Bears’ squad focused on regaining their form after a sluggish 21-point win last week.

Prediction: Baylor 45-38

Kansas is bad and Oklahoma State is rounding into form as a Big 12 contender. Tyreek Hill is a touchdown waiting to happen and should find multiple ways to score on Saturday against a Jayhawks team in turmoil.

Prediction: Oklahoma State 49-10
