Arizona vs. Utah: Game Preview With TV Schedule

Not many people thought the Arizona Wildcats would be ranked in the top-15 at this point in the season, but with just two games remaining, they are sitting pretty at No. 15. The same can be said for the Utah Utes and even being ranked at this point in the year. Who would have thought a week 13 matchup between Arizona and Utah would actually be a big game? Not me.

Arizona has been doing great work on offense all season long with a young and relatively inexperienced squad at most of the skill positions including quarterback and running back. Anu Solomon has been one of the best young quarterbacks in the nation and he is only a freshman. The young gun has passed for 3,058 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions this year while gaining confidence each week — he has also rushed for 307 yards. Nick Wilson, another freshman, leads the run game with 867 yards and nine touchdowns while senior Terris Jones-Grigsby is next up in the rush offense with 474 yards and three TDs. Sophomore Cayleb Jones has been Solomon’s favorite target, catching 58 passes for 788 yards and eight scores.

Utah has had one of the worst pass offenses in the Pac-12 this season, ranking 100th nationally in yards per game. Travis Wilson has been getting most of the reps for the Utes as the quarterback — the junior has passed for 1,558 yards, 13 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Kendal Thompson had split time earlier in the year with Wilson, but Wilson proved to be the better overall player. Wilson has also rushed for 172 yards and two scores. Devontae Booker has been one of the most underrated running backs in the conference, racking up 1,113 yards and eight touchdowns on the year. Dres Anderson leads all receivers with 355 yards and four touchdowns on 22 catches while Kenneth Scott leads the team in receptions with 33 for 351 yards and four scores.

Defensively, Utah has been relatively average this season. The Utes rank 43rd in points allowed as well as a less than impressive 63rd in total yards allowed per game. Arizona has struggled much more this year than Utah, ranking just 61st in scoring defense as well as 102nd in total yards allowed per contest.

Arizona will travel to Utah to take on the Utes at 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, Nov. 22. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN.

PREDICTION: Arizona 24, Utah 31

Texas Tech wide receiver Jakeem Grant only stands 5-foot-6 which leaves his only hope of making the NFL to his speed. At his pro day on Friday, Grant showed off that speed as he was clocked in the 4.1-range according to scouts on hand.
