Predicting the Final Score of Kansas State vs. Baylor

The Big 12 doesn’t have a championship game, but at least it will have a solid matchup on the last day of the regular season. That game will be played between the Kansas State Wildcats and Baylor Bears.

While Kansas State only has two losses in 2014, and would clearly like to come away with the victory, it is the Bears who have the most on the line. They only have one loss on the season and could still make the College Football Playoff.

Who knows if the committee is going to pick Baylor or the TCU Horned Frogs (or maybe someone else), but a loss would certainly spell doom for the Bears’ playoff hopes.

Baylor has the No. 1 offense in the nation (49.8 PPG), and a big reason for that has been the play of QB Bryce Petty. Petty was knocked out of the team’s last game with a concussion. If he is not able to go in this contest, who knows what will happen. Assuming he does get to play, the Bears should win at home.

Although I am sure fans would love to see TCU and Baylor going at it once again, that is likely not going to happen, and they will have to settle with K-State and Baylor meeting up in the final week.

The Wildcats certainly have the firepower to compete with Baylor, but I just don’t see them pulling off the upset on the road. With that in mind, Kansas State dropped 51 points last game, for what it’s worth.

Prediction: Kansas State 33, Baylor 35
