The ole ball coach will be relabeled the ancient ball coach by the time it arrives, but that doesn’t change South Carolina skipper Steve Spurrier’s opinion of the 2097 recruiting class. The year 2079 is primed to be a big year for reproduction, meaning the selection as far as recruits are concerned is sure to be impressive.

And of course Spurrier doesn’t want to be left behind. Some schools are signing kids to letters of intent when they are only in elementary school these days, but he senses that the future will entail those commitments being made before birth, or even conception – heck, maybe even before that twinkle in your father’s eye.

So naturally, Spurrier is keen on 2097 recruit Jamiroquai Jefferson, whose great-grandfather – as you may have assumed – was quite fond of the one-hit wonder band Jamiroquai. His future father decided to pay tribute to his grandpa by giving his son the name.

Though it will seem like a distant memory by the time Jefferson is actually on this earth and playing organized football, Spurrier did land another highly-touted recruit with a unique “J” name in one Jadeveon Clowney once upon a time. With Jefferson likely to play the defensive end position as well given his family tree and probable lineage, it’s quite possible that he could be in pursuit of Clowney’s records when he steps on campus in Columbia with Spurrier’s Gamecocks.

So while Jamiroquai Jefferson may seem irrelevant in the here and now for a coach poised to turn 70 years of age later this month, the future’s made of virtual insanity.

Coleman Slawski is a complete fool. Seriously, check him out.
