Stadium: Cotton Bowl

The Texas Longhorns‘ never-ending nightmare is going to continue in this year’s version of the Red River Rivalry. As for the Oklahoma Sooners, they are quietly turning into one of the best teams in college football. Shocker.

Coming off yet another brutal loss, Charlie Strong has been making the headlines — and that is not a good thing. This time around, Texas is coming off a blowout loss against the TCU Horned Frogs, while the Sooners are coming off a big win against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Anything can happen in a rivalry game, right? Although that tends to be the case, the Longhorns should be happy if they just compete in this game.

After all, Oklahoma seems to be getting better and better, it has yet to lose a game in 2015 and quarterback Baker Mayfield looks unstoppable.

So for Texas to pull off the upset, a few miracles will have to happen. The Longhorns’ defense will have to have a monster performance, and the offense will actually have to rack up the points … unlike last game when they could only manage seven points against the mighty Horned Frogs.

Oklahoma might lose a game this year, but that loss is not going to come against Texas … even if Strong & Co. are beyond desperate for a victory and a winning streak.

In this battle, Mayfield’s Heisman-like season will continue, and Texas’ nightmare will only get worse.

PREDICTION: Sooners 56, Longhorns 24
