TV Schedule: Saturday, November 21, 12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Lane Stadium, Blacksburg, Va.

Line: UNC (-6.5)

On paper, this game looks to be a cinch for North Carolina since the Tar Heels keep breaking ACC and school records, but Vegas doesn’t take heart and motivation into consideration. This will be Senior Day for 26 Hokies and Frank Beamer’s last home game with his alma mater.

Beamer announced earlier this season that this would be his last as head coach of Virginia Tech. He retires with the most victories among active Division I coaches and sixth-most in history with 278 wins. The Hokies are 5-5 and need this victory to extend their nation-best bowl streak to 23 seasons.

While the Hokies could secure a bowl appearance with a win against Virginia in their regular-season closer, Beamer and his team know it would mean more at home.

Unfortunately for the Hokies, North Carolina hasn’t lost a game since the opener against South Carolina and is undefeated in ACC play for the first time since they won the league title in 1980. The Tar Heels only need one more win to secure a matchup with No. 1 and undefeated Clemson in the conference championship game.

If that weren’t daunting enough for the Hokies, the Tar Heels have gone three games without committing a turnover and have been averaging 42 points per game. In comparison, Virginia Tech has been averaging 29.8 points per game. However, the Hokies have only been allowing 24.

It’s possible the Hokies could send this game into OT, but Marquise Williams and the Tar Heels’ offense is just too good right now.

Prediction: North Carolina 42, Virginia Tech 38
