Is The NBA an Athletic Competition, or a Media Ploy?

Interviewing someone like Tim Donaghy was an extremely enlightening experience. Talking to someone who has been perceived by the general public in a very specific way, and then learning so much about a topic that was until now completely unknown, changes everything in ones reality. The NBA, and all of professional sports for that matter, [...]

Tim Donaghy – Thoughts on David Stern, Allen Iverson, and the NBA’s Refereeing Program

I had a chance to sit down with former longtime NBA referee Tim Donaghy who gave me some thoughts on his new book release, the state of the NBA today, and what is and isn’t being done to correct substantial issues within. This conversation will give an inside look at how one of the NBA’s [...]

Chicago blues continues against Jazz

The Utah Jazz came to the United Center and simply gave it to the Bulls.  The Jazz won easily 132-108.
Jazz point guard and Chicago native Deron Williams scored 28 points and had 17 assists to lead his team.  He was unstoppable.  Derrick Rose or Kirk Hinrich couldn’t defend him.

With the help of William’s assists, seven [...]

Mavs Streaking, Oh No Roethlisberger, No Suspension Edwards

The Mavericks just won their 12th game in a row last night. I guess Mark Cuban knew what he was doing when he made those trades at the deadline. Dallas has the two spot currently in the powerful West. I’m not saying they’re going to the finals, but this latest streak is impressive nontheless.
Only a [...]

Losing playoff spot

The Bulls are playing inconsistent basketball.  The team can’t lose three games in a row,  win four and then lose four and expect to get into the playoffs.
They are 31-31 and hold 8th place in the Eastern Conference.  Let me say this again, the Eastern Conference.  If they were in the west, the Bulls would [...]

Ron Ron, Hockey Hit, and a Carr

Lakers Verses The Magic.
In a finals rematch Orlando beat L.A. The Lakers were out rebounded and for the most part out played, but that wasn’t the most shocking thing. That title went to Ron Artest’s Hair. Ron went all Rodmen and bleached his head and dyed some purple words in different languages in it. I [...]

Gibson a top 5 rookie

In the 2009 draft the Bulls had two picks.  They grabbed Wake Forrest’s James Johnson with the 16th pick and then selected USC’s Taj Gibson with the 27 overall pick.
I don’t know what has happened to James Johnson but Gibson is becoming a star in Chicago. Gibson was the steal of the draft. The Bulls [...]

Noah missing next 3 weeks

Joakim Noah’s battle with plantar fasciitis in his left foot continues.  The Bulls have put him on the injured reserve list for three weeks.
In his time off, Noah is expected to rest his foot.  If the Bulls get to the playoffs, they will need him 100 percent healthy.

NCAA Men’s Hoops, Ju$tin Upton, Iverson

We have a slate full of good games in NCAA Men’s Basketball tonight. I didn’t get the call right on Florida over Vandy (but it was a four point game). Tonight I’ll be watching the Duke Maryland game. Duke blew them out last time but the red and white are at home looking to catch [...]

Atlanta takes advantage of beat up Bulls

The Atlanta Hawks licked their lips with hunger for an easy kill as they took the court against the wounded Chicago.  The predators pounced on their prey for a 24 point victory, 116-92.
The Bulls played without Joakim Noah and Luol Deng.  The starting roster included both of the Bull’s rookies, Taj Gibson and James Johnson.  [...]
