Miami Dolphins Cut Chad Johnson After Arrest For Domestic Battery

Chad Johnson thought he was going to turn his career around in Miami.  After a Saturday night arrest for head butting his wife, the Miami Dolphins have cut ties with the wideout in what could have been his final team in football.

The arrest for the incident with his wife is the first time that Chad Johnson has been arrested since he’s been in the league but Miami did not have a lot of patience with him.  He is a guy that was on a one year contract and he hasn’t looked good in a couple of years.  Getting arrested and bringing a negative light to the team is a good way to get sent home quick.

I am not sure if Chad Johnson is going to get another shot.  There might be a team or two interested in him but it is an uphill climb for him.  He might be able to put up numbers but this arrest is a black mark on him right now.  The story might not have gone down the way that it was portrayed but the Dolphins were simply not willing to wait.

We will have to wait for the trial process to find out what really happened but this is not good either way.  Johnson was involved in a situation where he ended up leaving a laceration on his wife’s head.  Not a real good way to explain that any way you slice it.

The Dolphins decided to take a shot on Ocho to see if he could maybe give their team a shot in the arm.  He simply could not stay out of his own way and it has cost him a night in jail, his job, and it could cost him his marriage down the line.  It might not be fair, but it is a cautionary tale.
