The Denver Broncos have come a long way since last season when they went 8-8 and advanced to the second round of the NFL playoffs with QB Tim Tebow under center. Boy, have things changed! The Broncos have a whole different feel to their team this season. They are not hoping to make the playoffs and win one round. This season, Santa brought them QB Peyton Manning and the Broncos have the Super Bowl in their sights.
The Broncos’ fans thanked Santa for giving them Manning and the NFL playoffs, which would be a great gift for any football fan. Manning has brought much more than just a playoff berth. The Broncos clinched the AFC West several weeks ago and they continue to climb for a better playoff seeding. The Broncos currently are 12-3 and hold the No. 2 seeding behind the Houston Texans. The Broncos could receive the No. 1 seeding with a victory in Week 17 and a Texans’ loss.
The Broncos are considered as one of the favorites to contend for Super Bowl XVLII, but these conversations were not mentioned last season with Tebow under center. No one could have predicted the incredible season Manning is having, and his success has been contagious for the entire Denver team, including the defense. In fact, the Broncos’ offense is ranked fourth in the league through 15 games, but their defense is even higher at third.
Broncos fans will likely be writing Santa again to thank him for a lot more in early February when the Broncos are holding up the Lombardi Trophy.
