Mike Munchak's Job On Line In 2013 For Tennessee Titans

The 2013 National Football League season is going to be one that will see a lot of change around the league with several new coaches. However, there may be one coach that didn’t get fired this offseason that is definitely on the hot seat right away in 2013 in Mike Munchak. The Tennessee Titans struggled to a 6-10 record this past season and while Munchak was 9-7 in his first year in 2011, the team can’t get any worse next season or Munchak could find himself out the door.

The Titans have been trying to develop a young quarterback in Jake Locker but there is no reason to go 6-10 with players like Chris Johnson on the field. Munchak is going to need a much better start in 2013 than the Titans had this season with a 1-4 beginning to their year. The biggest problem may be the fact that after the team’s bye week, the Titans went on a three-game losing streak all inside the AFC South. Munchak has been in the Titans organization for a very long time all the way back to the team being the Houston Oilers but seasons that finish at 6-10 won’t work.

This is a make or break season in my opinion for Munchak. He can’t afford to have a team that starts slowly again in a division with two playoff teams. It is going to be up to players like Johnson, Locker and Kenny Britt to play much better than they did this season. Otherwise, Munchak may be looking for a new job at this time next year.
