Miami Dolphins’ Ryan Tannehill is Player to Watch in First Preseason Game

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill did not play much against the Dallas Cowboys during the Hall of Fame game last weekend. He went 2-for-5 for 11 yards in an uneventful night. It is not known exactly how much he will play in the team’s first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, one thing is for certain, Tannehill must show improvement in the time he is on the field.

The second-year signal caller has been unimpressive for the most part in training camp up to this point. In fact, the offense in general has not shown a whole lot to get excited about. It certainly cannot get much worse than Tannehill tossing four interceptions in Tuesday’s practice. What makes it even more frustrating is that the picks occurred on a variety of throws.

“Frustrated by [Tuesday], it wasn’t a good day,” Tannehill said, according to the Miami Herald. “If you take a step back and look at the whole, I’m definitely moving in the right direction. I’ll make the corrections and look forward.”

That is certainly what the Dolphins are counting on. It is easy for Tannehill to say he is improving his skills under center. However, Miami and their fan base need to witness some sort of upgrade in his production when he takes the field against Jacksonville.

There is no question Tannehill will be the player every fan will have their eyes on Friday night. The success of the Dolphins rests solely on his shoulders. The team will go only as far as he will take them in 2013. Obviously, he will need some help from the rest of the team, but there is no denying it all starts with him and trickles down.
