Aaron Hernandez’s Future Continues To Look Bleak, Fiance Indicted on Perjury Charges
Things just keep getting worse for Aaron Hernandez. As the former tight end sits in jail awaiting his day in court to face first-degree murder charges, news involving his fiance has emerged. As expected, Shayanna Jenkins has been indicted on perjury charges. Prosecutors state that she has taken part in ‘overt attempts to hide evidence and to hinder and mislead.’ Translation – she’s likely been in on it the whole time. ‘It’ is of course the execution of Odin Lloyd this past June.
As always, though, suspected criminals are innocent until proven guilty.
But when it comes to this Hernandez case, the evidence just seems to keep mounting against him. The evidence is mostly circumstantial so far, but many cases are won each day in this country without a proverbial smoking gun.
In the case of Ms. Jenkins, her indictment means that a grand jury felt she lied under oath. In addition to Hernandez’s fiance, his cousin is also being charged with conspiracy to commit accessory after the fact. Tanya Singleton was already sent to jail after she refused to testify in front of the grand jury.
So when you look at everything as a whole, it just looks terrible for Hernandez at this point. He’s been denied bail, his fiance likely lied under oath and his cousin refused to testify. Those are not things typically associated with innocent people. We’ll see how all this plays out once he goes on trial, but the safe bet is that he’s going to be spending the rest of his life behind bars.
