Worst Possible Weekend For New York Giants

The New York Giants didn’t have to play a game for them to have a bad weekend. With the Dallas CowboysWashington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles all getting victories in Week 9, the Giants must now go into the second half of the season looking to go 8-0. It certainly seems impossible, but it’s probably the only way the Giants will get into the playoffs.

There are two wild card spots as well in case the Giants aren’t able to win the division. However, the other three divisions in the NFC seem as if they can place two teams into the playoffs. In the NFC West, the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are favorites to make it and make a deep run. In the NFC South, the New Orleans Saints are playing very well, and the Carolina Panthers are probably playing the best football out of any team in the last four weeks.

In the NFC North, the Green Bay PackersDetroit Lions and Chicago Bears are teams who can make the playoffs. Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a shoulder injury that may be a long-term injury, so that opens the door for the Bears and Lions if Rodgers is out for a while. Still, they have multiple teams who can get in.

The NFC East will most likely just send one team into the postseason. The other teams have hung around, but the Giants can’t rely on them to hang around for much longer. The Giants must take care of business, especially with their upcoming three-game home stand starting next Sunday against the Oakland Raiders. Any loss from here on out could eliminate the Giants entirely.
