Playoff pressure is heating up. Teams are battling for spots and in the AFC there really only remains one Wild Card spot open. To get a berth in the postseason, consistent and solid play needs to be present. The New York Jets have yet to learn how to handle success.

Some signature wins lifted hope that Gang Green could make some unexpected impact in 2013. Defensive line play marks their strong suit with players like Muhammad Wilkerson can get after opposing quarterbacks. In theory, their offensive running game also offers problems with battering ram Chris Ivory between tackles. Bilal Powell adds speed to this solid pair. Unfortunately, neither component really never showed up Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills.

This team has been so hard to figure out that they Sunday’s loss saw them set a dubious record. New York became the only club is NFL history to alternate wins and losses over their first 10 games. Now they are still in decent shape for a run, but Gang Green must address issues. Smith’s turnovers harm everyone while erasing any positives. It appears a switch is flipped every other week that literally shuts them down. When the Jets lose, more often than not it comes in blowout fashion. Honestly nothing else truly harmed their aspirations.

The Miami Dolphins stand with them at 5-5, but the team’s still place twice. Everyone else in the hunt is 4-6 or worse. None of that matters though if these issues don’t get fixed during coming weeks.
