New Orleans Saints Looking Healthy For Week 13

Crystal LoGiudice-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Saints‘ Week 13 match up against NFC-leading Seattle Seahawks is easily the game of the season. It will feature the top two teams in the NFC and has the potential to dictate where the road to the Super Bowl on the NFC side will go through. Who knows if the NFL scheduling gurus planned it this way or not, but I am very excited for this game and the fact that it is on Monday Night Football.

Thankfully for New Orleans, the Saints will be coming into this contest relatively healthy. The team’s website listed only five players on the injury list on Friday, two of whom did not participate and are likely to not play in Monday’s game. Those two players were defensive end Glenn Foster and linebacker Keyunta Dawson. Foster suffered a leg/knee injury in last week’s divisional game against the Atlanta Falcons and Dawson’s injury came as a bit of a surprise.

Running back Darren Sproles, who suffered an ankle injury in Week 11, fully participated in practice this week, as did guard Jahri Evans. Their healthy return is crucial as New Orleans will need all of the weapons they have at their disposal against one of the league’s better defenses on their home turf.

The other player on the injury report was cornerback Chris Carr. He was listed as probable with a hip/hamstring injury and will be needed in the backfield. After fellow corner back Jabari Greer was lost for the season with a knee injury against the San Francisco 49ers, Corey White was thrown into the mix and was picked on a bit against the Falcons.

All in all, the Saints are in pretty good shape heading into this big prime time matchup against Seattle.
