If you don’t yet know who Buffalo University‘s Khalil Mack is, please, do yourself a favor and watch this guy play. He has everything you look for in an NFL pass rusher. Power? Check. Speed? Check. Unstoppable motor? Check. It’s easy to see why Mack is the best linebacker in the 2014 NFL Draft as he has all the makings of the NFL’s next great pass rushing linebacker.

Although the New Orleans Saints hold the No. 27 overall pick in this year’s draft, make no mistake; they should do anything possible to move up and snag Mack before any other team gets a chance to steal him away. This is crucial for New Orleans because, even though their defense took major strides forward in their first year under defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, the team still lacks an elite pass rusher, aside from possibly defensive end Cameron Jordan.

Ryan’s scheme is dependent upon linebackers being able to quickly take down the quarterbacks, and if the team were to get Mack in the draft this defense would have a totally different look and feel to it. Mack could easily post 15+ sacks once he gets going in his NFL career, and he is just the type of player the Saints need to be targeting for their defense. With Victor Butler a major question mark due to an injury that sidelined him all of last season combined with the fact that the Saints’ linebacking corps is sure to see its share of turnover this offseason. Khalil Mack is the obvious choice for the New Orleans Saints in the 2014 draft.

New Orleans must do everything it can to make sure Mack is wearing black and gold come next season.
