NFL Rumors: Ruling On Adrian Peterson’s Playing Status To Be Known By Wednesday

Adrian Peterson

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Will he or won’t he play again this season? That’s the question on minds of Minnesota Vikings fans everywhere when it comes to Adrian Peterson. In fact, that’s been the question for going on 11 weeks now. But after multiple court dates and back-and-forth with the NFL, a ruling from the league could come down as soon as Wednesday.

Here’s the latest from PFT’s Mike Florio:

“Arbitrator Shyam Das conducted a hearing on Monday regarding the effort to reinstate Vikings running back Adrian Peterson from the Commissioner-Exempt list.  Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the hearing was conducted and fully completed on Monday… By rule, a decision must come by Saturday, November 22.  The source says a ruling likely will come within two days.”

Florio also notes that many were expecting Peterson to be suspended Monday under the NFL’s personal conduct policy. But since that hasn’t happened, it’s possible the two sides are at work trying to reach some sort of deal.

In theory, and best case scenario for AP, he could be back at Vikings’ practice on Wednesday preparing for the Green Bay Packers. Worst case scenario, he’ll be suspended for the remainder of the year and likely left looking for a new team this offseason. But depending on your POV, AP starting a new chapter next season could actually be best case for all involved.
