5 Players To Watch In Jets vs. Bills

The last time the Buffalo Bills squared off against the New York Jets, it was an absolute nightmare for "Gang Green". QB Geno Smith threw three INTs within his first eight passes, which led to his benching for Michael Vick and the game ended in a 43-23 win for the Bills. They face each other again on Monday and these are the five players to watch closely.

With Leodis McKelvin being placed on the injured reserve list, Corey Graham gets to step into his spot. This is actually a good thing when you consider that McKelvin had a pass coverage grade of -2.1 and has been inconsistent this year. Graham, on the other hand, has a pass coverage grade of 4.7 which ranks him as the best DB on the team. He will try to slow down WR Percy Harvin and his explosive playmaking ability.

4. Kyle Orton - QB - Buffalo Bills

Kyle Orton threw for 238 yards, four TDs and zero INTs in the last matchup against the Jets and their porous secondary. Considering the fact that the New York secondary hasn't improved at all since then, and they also boast a pass rush grade of -3.8, Orton may have a repeat performance against them. He takes care of the ball very well and rarely forces an issue that leads to a turnover. He is definitely a guy to watch in this game.

In all fairness to Michael Vick, by the time he replaced Geno Smith in that 43-23 embarrassment to the Bills, the game's outcome already seemed decided. Additionally, he was thrown into the fire without any first team reps during practice that week. He will be fully prepared this time and will look to have a better impact than his one INT and two lost fumbles from the last outing.

2. Percy Harvin - WR - New York Jets

With only three catches for 22 yards, Percy Harvin had minimal impact in the last game against the Bills. However, with Geno Smith playing catch with the Buffalo DBs, it was hardly any fault of Harvin's. He will most certainly improve on those numbers in this contest against a Bills pass coverage that has a -3.2 Pro Football Focus grade. Not only will Buffalo's defense be watching him closely, but so should every spectator of this game.

1. Sammy Watkins - WR - Buffalo Bills

Sammy Watkins didn't catch many passes in the last game against the Jets, but he made them pay when he did. He finished that contest with three catches for 157 yards and a TD. Considering the fact that the Jets have a -17.4 pass coverage grade and Watkins continues to improve weekly, this is an ideal matchup for him. He will be the top player to pay attention to in this matchup, because the rookie could have a monster game.
