After starting the season with 10 straight losses, the Oakland Raiders have won two of their past three games. The game they lost was a 52-0 blowout at the hands of the St. Louis Rams. Regardless, it’s safe to say the Raiders are playing better football. Even though they won’t make the playoffs, the players are fighting for their jobs in 2015 and despite the Kansas City Chiefs in need of a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, Oakland can salvage its season by beating the Chiefs on their own turf.

At times in 2014, rookie quarterback Derek Carr has been quite impressive. He’s had bad games as well, but that’s part of the learning process for a rookie quarterback in the NFL. The main deciding point for Carr’s success week in and week out is the offensive line in front of him. When Carr gets good play from his offensive line, he gets time to go through his reads and find the open man, two things which are crucial for a quarterback’s development at the professional level.

Over the offseason, to put competent players next to center Stefan Wisniewski, the Raiders brought in rookie Gabe Jackson via the draft and Donald Penn and Austin Howard via free agency. Considering that Oakland brought in three new offensive line, it has taken them a while to get settled. However, if the offensive line can slow down Kansas City’s pass rush and give Carr some time, the Raiders will have a great chance to come out on top in this one.
