The NFL Awards are this Saturday, and with them comes the announcement of the league's MVP for the 2014 season. And J.J. Watt will win it -- or at least he should win it. Who knows what will happen, but if you are one of those lucky few who get to vote, here are five reasons you should vote for J.J. Watt.

The Texans won nine games this past season. None of that would have been possible if it wasn’t for J.J. Watt's sheer excellence. There was only one win this season — Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders — that Watt did not record a sack or a turnover. But he did record a receiving touchdown. In every other win the Texans had, Watt had at least a sack and/or a turnover. That’s amazing.

I’ve already touched on his turnover prowess but just one sentence doesn’t do it justice. Watt led the league with five fumble recoveries and was second in the league with four forced fumbles. No one in the NFL was better at forcing the opponent to fumble the football and then recover it.

If I listed all of Watt’s stats this season, it would fill up this slide. But ask yourself this: What would a defensive player in the NFL have to do to prove himself better than any offensive player in the league? Hasn’t Watt done that? Heck, the guy caught three touchdowns on offense. That’s more than all the Chiefs’ wide receivers combined!

J.J. Watt became the first player ever in NFL history to have two seasons with 20 or more sacks. He also became the first player to return an interception for a touchdown, a fumble for a touchdown and have three receiving touchdowns. What more do you need to crown this man MVP?

For too long the MVP has just been “Which quarterback was better?” Well not this year. This year Watt was by far and away the most valuable player in the league. The Texans don’t win nine games without him, and he pretty much single-handedly destroyed offenses, despite constantly receiving all the extra attention one man could get. Yes Aaron Rodgers is great and beautiful, but J.J. Watt is hands down MVP of the NFL.
