Now that the NFL Combine is in the books, teams are starting to get a clear idea of what value they place on prospects. For the Jets, now is the time to really shape their draft board and figure out what key positions will be addressed. It sounds like the Jets will look to fill their holes at corner and guard in free agency, so keep that in mind here. Without further ado, let's look at the Jets' post-combine seven round mock draft.

1st Round: QB Marcus Mariota, Oregon

Again, it's early, but indications right now are that Mariota will be on the board at No. 6 overall. Mariota is a dual threat QB who could be the franchise quarterback the Jets have been searching for. The Jets could go for a safer receiver or pass rusher, but barring a trade it makes sense to invest in a player who could finally be their long awaited solution at quarterback. Mariota has his flaws, but he has also has legitimate star potential.

2nd Round: WR Devin Smith, Ohio State

Smith didn't blow people away in the 40 at the combine, but there's more than enough tape to validate his reputation as one of the best deep threats in this class. Smith has decent size at 6’0”, 196 lbs as well as the speed to create big plays. He also has very good hands and natural receiving skills, though his route running needs polish. Still, the Jets need a big play receiver on the edge, and Smith is one of the best in the draft.

3rd Round: OLB Lorenzo Mauldin, Louisville

The Jets retained Calvin Pace and Jason Babin, but it's still essential they add a young pass rusher. Mauldin recorded 16 sacks over the last two seasons for the Cardinals and would be great value in the third round. Mauldin has good size for the position with solid athleticism on the edge. He is also a hard working, high character individual who overcame a very rough childhood to reach the NFL. Mauldin would be a great addition for the Jets.

4th Round: FS Kurtis Drummond, Michigan State

Free safety is an underrated need for the Jets, and Drummond would give them the coverage safety they badly need. Drummond showed good athleticism at the combine and has great size for the position. More importantly, he possesses the coverage skills the Jets need, recording 8 interceptions the last two seasons. Drummond needs some polish, but he would give the Jets the true free safety they haven't had the last couple years.

5th Round: CB Lorenzo Doss, Tulane

If the Jets sign a free agent corner they likely won't spend a high pick on the position, but that doesn't preclude them from drafting one at all. Doss (6, with ball) is a former receiver who has some of the best ball skills at the position in the draft to go with solid size and good speed. Doss isn't a hitter and is a gambler in coverage, but he has the potential to develop into a very solid player. He would be a great developmental prospect.

6th Round: Percy Harvin Trade

At this point it seems like a certainty that the Jets will release Harvin and save a substantial amount of cap space in the process. That means they will send a 6th round pick to the Seahawks as compensation, which wasn't a bad price to pay to take a look at Harvin. However, his production doesn't justify his price tag, which is why the Jets will release him.

7th Round: ILB Amarlo Herrera, Georgia

Inside linebacker could become a key need if the Jets lose David Harris, but they at least need to start thinking about a succession plan. Herrera is a smart, highly productive linebacker who is going to fall because of lack of size and speed. However, he has the instincts and tackling ability to become a solid linebacker, and he is at least a special teams contributor. Herrera's tape is excellent, and he's worth a gamble late.
