According to Ian Rapoport, the San Diego Chargers don’t really want to trade Philip Rivers. But if San Diego were to trade the veteran All-Pro, the asking price would be quite steep. How much would a team have to give up in a trade? Rapoport is quoted reporting to the NFL network, “A LOT. Multiple first round picks.” So which teams would be crazy enough to make such a proposal? Here are five that should be on the radar:

5. Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns would gladly forfeit their long-term future for Rivers’ short-term availability. Remember, the Browns were so desperate for a quarterback that they drafted Johnny Manziel in the first round. Don’t rule out Cleveland.

4. Tennessee Titans

When the Titans aren’t losing young quarterbacks to retirement, Tennessee’s young quarterbacks are losing football games. Look for Tennessee to gauge some interest, and possibly give up the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL draft.

3. Washington Redskins

The RG III experiment is close to being a failure, and the Redskins might not give the injury-prone, practice-adverse, prima donna another chance at stardom in 2015. I see the Redskins as another unstable organization willing to cough up high draft picks in a rebooted pursuit of a franchise quarterback.

2. New York Jets

The Jets are the second biggest offseason fire-starter behind the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015. The Jets need a steady signal-caller, and could give up future assets for Rivers.

This would take a lot of wizardry, since the Texans best draft pick is at No. 17 overall, but Houston is another team that could turn everything around with a proven quarterback. So why not give up nearly everything the Texans have for Rivers?
