It’s at least one more year with the incumbent quarterback, Peyton Manning. But is 2015 “the” year for the Denver Broncos? Can an aging quarterback take a peaking roster to its apex? Here are the opponents the Broncos must navigate in 2015 to keep spirits in line with expectations.

13. Kansas City Chiefs

Andy Reid will guide a 10-plus win team one way or another; the former Punt, Pass and Kick stalwart is too good of a coach not to. Expect Kansas City to get an infinite amount of touchdowns to receivers in comparison to 2014 and give the Broncos a run for the division.

12. Green Bay Packers

Like the Chiefs, the Packers will be a tough out for the Broncos. At least Denver will get the Packers solely at home. Away from Lambeau, the Packers can be vulnerable, going 4-4 on the road in each of the last two seasons.

11. Chicago Bears

The Broncos travel to Soldier Field to play the Bears in 2015, and the Bears will be an enigmatic team at best. Depending on whether Jay Cutler’s rocket-arm is hitting the Bears’ depleted receiving corps will likely dictate the outcome of this matchup. But I’m sure Denver knows all about this with the beleaguered quarterback.

10. Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders hired a good coach in Jack Del Rio and could steal a game against the Broncos again in 2015. Expect the Raiders to be as good as 7-9, but not as bad as 3-13, a mark Oakland should improve on from 2014.

9. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings appear to have a productive quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater, and they just signed a 6-foot-9, 351-pound Polish-born lineman who’s taken the Internet to the woodshed. Minnesota travels to Denver for this 2015 showdown, and it’s a game Denver must take to work toward that postseason bye.

Whether Philip Rivers stays or goes, this is still a rivalry game, and in rivalry games, you find a window to throw stuff out of. Per usual, the Broncos get the Chargers twice, and sweeping San Diego can clinch division dominance for 2015.

I’m high on the Steelers in 2015. Le’Veon Bell, Ben Roethlisberger and hopefully a younger secondary bring merit to my argument. Denver gets Pittsburgh in the Steel City, so this game could be good or get ugly for the Broncos.

6. Detroit Lions

I see the Lions winning anywhere between three and 13 games in 2015. Will losing Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley turn a rigid defense porous? Or will the “Ewing theory” be in full effect as the Lions perform addition by subtraction?

5. Cleveland Browns

The Broncos face this sad franchise in Cleveland this fall. Cleveland has a stout defense but little else. This might be a Vegas trap game, as I’m sure Denver is already favored by a touchdown, but the Broncos can’t sleep on the possibility the Browns become a dark horse.

Losing Haloti Ngata and Pernell McPhee may take its toll, but unlike the Cleveland Browns of new, this Browns team of old is a solid franchise and will be a solid competitor for the Broncos in 2015.

3. Cincinnati Bengals

This perpetual 10-win team comes to Sports Authority Field in 2015. Another game that could range from a gimme to a battle, Denver will need to set the tone early and get the home crowd behind their Broncos.

2. Indianapolis Colts

Look for Andrew Luck to leapfrog into the pinnacle of quarterback stardom. This neck-bearded signal-caller will take a spot at the top and possibly usurp Aaron Rodgers as the NFL’s best. Oh, and the Colts will be pretty good, too.

As Cincinnati is a perpetual 10-win team, New England is a perpetual 12-win division champion. Expect much of the same in 2015. Bill Belichick will cut an ostensibly valuable asset, the Patriots will go on a seven-game win streak, insecure Internet trolls will badger Tom Brady, yada, yada, yada.
