The NFC East is one of the toughest divisions in all of football, and the New York Giants know they have many questions to address if they're going to be atop the division at the close of the season.

The New York Giants might have received a gift when projected first-round safety Landon Collins was still on the board in the second round. They traded three picks to move up seven spots to select him. With both starters at safety gone from 2014, Collins will be expected to fill in right away and make an impact. The Giants just need to hope they know something that 31 other teams did not.

It seems like an eternity since Steve Spagnuolo was wearing the red, white and blue and leading a vaunted defense to ruin the Patriots' perfect season in Super Bowl XLII back in 2008. But when he left, he struggled as head coach in St. Louis and the Saints had a historically awful defense when he was the defensive coordinator there. Spagnuolo returns not only to get the Giants defense back to being in the top 10, but to get back on track himself.

Outside of Odell Beckham Jr., there are a lot of question marks at the receiver position. Victor Cruz enters the season nearly one year after a knee injury, and Rueben Randle has yet to show himself to be a reliable option. After that, they have the likes of Dwayne Harris, Corey Washington and Preston Parker. Not much to be excited about outside of the starters, so training camp will be a chance for the rest of the guys to prove their worth.

The Giants had 20 players on injured reserve in 2014. TWENTY. That is not a typo. And in 2013 they led the league with 91 games lost to injury by starters. Aside from Victor Cruz, starters Jon Beason and Prince Amukamara lost most of 2014 with injuries. Health is a definite hot-button word around the Giants locker room, and they can't afford to have a repeat of the past two seasons.

Offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo deserves some credit for the bounce-back season Eli Manning experienced last year. He had a near 1:2 touchdown-interception ratio in 2013 yet threw for 30 touchdowns and only 14 interceptions in 2014, a remarkable difference. Combine that with the fact he didn't lose a fumble either and the Giants have to feel good about Manning's dedication to protect the ball coming into camp.
