The firings of general manager Martin Mayhew and president Tom Lewand on Thursday brought speculation about the future of quarterback Matthew Stafford. It's a reach to place the former No. 1 overall pick on the trade block, but here are five teams that could have interest in Stafford during the offseason.

If Peyton Manning retires after the season, the Broncos should be in the market for an experienced quarterback. Stafford may be the proverbial "best available" if the Lions seriously look to move him, and joining a solid organization could revive his career.

A mostly dysfunctional organization and a quarterback who lacks consistency are not a great match, but Washington should be among the teams with some interest in Stafford if he is available.

Leaving aside local appeal, since Stafford went to high school in the Dallas area, the Texans don't have a locked-in starting quarterback for 2016. General manager Rick Smith may have his job on the line if Houston doesn't make a playoff push soon, so giving up a draft pick or two for Stafford may be a palatable move.
