5 Worst Decisions New York Giants Made in 2015

After a horrendous season it is time for the New York Giants to dissect what went wrong. There are plenty of routes to go with that, but these five decisions are a good place to start.

5. Playing Marshall Newhouse

The Giants made a mistake by playing Newhouse at right tackle so much this season. They should have played rookie Bobby Hart more often. It would have been good to see if they have something valuable with Hart instead of the older Newhouse. Now, they aren't quite sure if Hart is useful going forward.

4. Releasing James Jones

When he was released following camp, the Giants clearly made a mistake. Jones would have been a great help to receiving corps. The move hurt more when Victor Cruz never came back and Rueben Randle underachieved. Looking back, especially after his season in Green Bay, letting Jones go was wrong.

3. Using a Running Back By Committee

The Giants used a committee at running back most of the season. It was clear that Jennings was probably the most talented but he shared a lot of carries. When he was used as the main back the last few weeks of the season, Jennings shined, leaving the Giants to wonder 'what if.'

2. Lack of Safeties

It was irresponsible for the Giants to go into the season with the safety corps that they possessed, and it burnt them all season. Craig Dahl, Brandon Meriweather and rookie Landon Collins couldn't cover at all. The personnel was not there.

1. Jerry Reese Staying as GM

Owner John Mara made a mistake by only having Tom Coughlin as a fall guy. Reese deserved to get axed too. He was largely responsible for the lack of talent on the roster. He's had some bad drafts and free agency years. It would have been a good time to send him out with the coach and totally start from scratch. Now the coach may end up with a new GM after just one season if Reese fails in 2016.
