This offseason, the Los Angeles Rams made a big move for their franchise. The team drafted quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and they appear to be ready to move on from Nick Foles. Foles has expressed a desire to leave the team as well, and here is a look at some teams that could be interested in the veteran’s service.
5. San Francisco 49ers
Getty ImagesThe 49ers reportedly have some interest in Foles. The team does not have a true franchise quarterback, as Blaine Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick are backups at best right now, but Foles likely would not be a real improvement.
4. Indianapolis Colts
Getty ImagesScott Tolzien signed with the Colts as a free agent to backup Andrew Luck, but adding Foles to compete with him would be a good move. The two could battle for the position and it would be a low-risk, high-reward move for the Colts.
3. Denver Broncos
Getty ImagesEvery free agent quarterback will be linked to the Broncos as long as their starting quarterback battle is between Mark Sanchez and Paxton Lynch. Foles may be able to beat them out, and he could be a starter until Lynch is ready to play every day.
2. Arizona Cardinals
Getty ImagesFoles projects to be a very good fit in Bruce Arians’ offense. The team already has a strong starter, Carson Palmer, and a good backup, Drew Stanton, but both have had injury issues. Foles would add solid depth and experience to the team.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Getty ImagesAndy Reid coached Foles in the first season of his career and he had some success as a backup for them. Adding Nick Foles to be the primary backup and allowing Kevin Hogan and Aaron Murray to develop would be a good move.
