The San Diego Chargers have several big-time players who did not play well last season. They also have others who need to step up and grow into a bigger role. If they cannot keep some of their best players on the field and get more production out of their bigger names, then it will be another long year for the team.

The Chargers seem to have faith in Addae, but he needs to prove that he can be a quality starter. He can make big hits and plays with a chip on his shoulder, but he must be more consistent.
4. Orlando Franklin

Franklin was a big free-agent signing last year, however injuries made it a tough year for him. He needs to bounce back and regain the form that made him a productive offensive lineman.
3. Melvin Gordon

The Chargers used a high draft pick on Gordon, and he struggled to justify his value all season long. Offensive line problems certainly hurt, but Gordon needs to do his part and prove himself on the field.
2. Corey Liuget

Liuget is another player who struggled with injuries, but after a big contract extension a year ago, a lot is expected of him. He has the potential to be dominant on the defensive line, and he must make his presence felt on the field.
1. King Dunlap

A lot of the protection problems started with Dunlap, who was unable to stay healthy all season long. Dunlap is a capable left tackle, and his ability to stay on the field will have a huge impact on the Chargers this season.
