Jacksonville Jaguars' Rookie RB Leonard Fournette Gifts His Mom Brand New Mercedes Following NFL Draft

By Timothy Downs

The Jacksonville Jaguars have struggled to put together a running game around quarterback Blake Bortles over the last few seasons, and the lack of versatility in their offense has shown in Bortles’ play.

Late last month, the Jaguars made a bold move in efforts to improve their ground attack when they selected former LSU standout running back Leonard Fournette at No. 4 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Fournette rushed for an impressive 3,830 yards over 616 carries (6.2 yards per carry) with 40 touchdowns on the ground, in addition to 41 receptions for 526 yards and one TD through the air in 32 games for the Tigers.

If Jacksonville can get its offensive line straightened out, Fournette has the potential to become a top-10 NFL running back during the life of his rookie contract.

Terms of Fournette’s aforementioned rookie deal have yet to be released, but he’s expected to receive $17 million in bonuses alone.

Thus, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see the 22-year-old gifted his mom a Mercedes as an early Mother’s Day present on Thursday.

Nice gesture, Leonard!
