By Jonathan Sexauer

Our of the 23 on the United States roster, a whopping 16 play collegiate or American junior hockey, and the other seven play in the Canadian Hockey League

For two of these players, this will be their third WJC

For five (six) of these players, it will be their second world juniors (one is an emergency goaltender)

And for the other 15, this will be their first crack at playing in the World Junior Championship.

Defenseman Adam Clendening hails from local Niagara Falls, NY and was, like Patrick Kane, drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks.

The American Team will be captained by University of Denver player and Minnesota Wild 2010 draft pick Jason Zucker, and Emerson Etem(Medicine Hat Tigers, Anaheim Ducks) and Jarred Tinordi (London Knights, Montréal Canadiens) will serve as alternate captains.

The Americans will look for redemption for last years tournament in Buffalo, NY and look to reclaim the gold medal, which they had won in 2010.

However, due to the strength of the Group B, redemption may be hard to find in the group stage, but keet this in mind. Russia, who won gold in Buffalo, finished third in their group.
