Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin helped Metallurg Magnitogorsk to a 3-0 victory over Amur Khabarovsk in KHL action this morning.

Malkin scored his team’s third goal of the game with 1:57 left. Former Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar assisted on what was Malkin’s second goal of the season.

Wow.

Malkin has added seven assists to his two goal total for nine points in nine KHL contests this season.

Unfortunately, even with news that ESPN3 will stream seven KHL games this month, Penguins fans will still have to turn to other “free” internet sources if they want to watch Malkin play – only Metallurg’s game on October 22 at 12:30 PM will be carried by the Worldwide Leader.

Here are the rest of the games that will be streamed on ESPN3:

Lev vs. Dynamo Moscow (Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. ET, also on ESPN2)

Dynamo Moscow vs. Amur (Oct. 13, 9 a.m. ET)

Dynamo Moscow vs. Sibir HD (Oct. 16, 11:30 a.m. ET)

SKA vs. Sibir HD (Oct. 18, 11:45 a.m. ET)

Dynamo Moscow vs. Dinamo Riga HD (Oct. 29, 11:30 a.m. ET)

Thus far, Malkin hasn’t exactly dominated KHL competition as much as fans would like to seen. He’s much better than a point-per-game player against NHL competition, so he’s surely not satisfied nine points in nine games in Russia’s top league.

Odds are he’ll start to dominate the KHL as he becomes a bit more used to the wide-open ice surface.

Metallurg’s next game is scheduled for 3 PM MSK this Saturday.
