The Penguins defeated the Carolina Hurricanes at the CONSOL by a score of 3-2 in front of home crowd of 18,305.

1993
Ken Wregget denied the attempt of Calgary FlamesJoe Nieuwendyk on a penalty shot.

1987
Mario Lemieux recorded his fourth hat trick against the Vancouver Canucks.

1975
Syl Apps was named MVP of the NHL All-Star Game in Montreal; he scored two goals (it was the second time a Pittsburgh player was crowned MVP).
