The NHL preseason is very close to us, as we will start to see some game action in a little over a month. For hockey fans, this is exciting, but it’s also exciting for hockey players. Due to the short amount of time before teams take to the ice for preseason actions, teams around the league are already starting to prepare. The Philadelphia Flyers team is no different.

In a video posted on the team’s website, the Flyers let us into some behind the scenes action where Claude Giroux and his teammates have already starting holding informal skates at the team’s skate zone in Voorhees, New Jersey. Not only is this nice for fans to get an inside look into the team’s preparations, but these informal skates indicate that the Flyers training camp is right around the corner.

This is not the first time that the players have gotten on the ice since the season ended. Most of the seasoned veterans have been training hard all offseason in order to be in top shape once the season does start. The Flyers prospects have already gone through Trial on the Isle, so they have also been preparing for the new season and to prove themselves worthy of a roster spot.

Fans are impatiently waiting for the season opener so much that they are counting down the days until the preseason starts. This preseason should be interesting for the Flyers since they will play a split squad game on September 16. Half the team will face the Washington Capitals, and the other the Toronto Maple Leafs.

If the team is gearing up for the new season by organizing practices, that means the Flyers are ready to redeem themselves after the fiasco of last season.
