Who Can Batista Face In WWE?
With Batista set to return to the WWE, who will benefit most by feuding with him?
Unlike the Rock who had a seven-year hiatus, Batista will be returning to the WWE after only a four-year absence. In those four years, the company hasn’t really built up any new stars for him to face off against.
If we’re talking about the top two stars in the company right now, they are John Cena and Randy Orton. Batista already feuded with Cena before he left in 2010, while he has feuded with Orton in the past too. I don’t think I would want to see him face either of these two when he comes back.
A match that could be awesome to see is Brock Lesnar vs. Batista. Lesnar left the WWE before Batista became a huge star in 2005. Fans have been wanting to see these two face for many years now. The only problem I have with this match is that both guys are part-time wrestlers. It wouldn’t benefit the company in the long run if these two faced each other once and then left. This is what happened when Lesnar faced Goldberg and the fans booed them out of the building.
The only “new” stars that WWE has created have been CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Bryan’s size difference may mean the WWE will be hesitant to book him against Batista. Punk vs. Batista will work well since they only faced each other when Punk had long hair and wasn’t as popular as he is now.
The only other star I could see Batista facing is Ryback. The only problem with Ryback right now is that he’s in the doghouse and WWE isn’t pushing him anymore. It’s unlikely WWE will book Ryback against a huge star like Batista at this point.
