One thing that the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City could not do was win on Welsh soil against Cardiff City. Man City lost 3-2 while United were forced to share the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
Then comes in London’s best club at the moment, Arsenal. The Gunners were led by none other than Aaron Ramsey who once again proved his worth by netting a double while teammate Mathieu Flamini hit one between his two strikes. The beauty of this is that Ramsey is the only Welshman at his club nonetheless he has been on a scoring roll this season.
The one sour part is the fact that Cardiff is the club where his youth as well as professional career commenced. Surely if someone else scored those goals he would not have minded as he did not seem to celebrate the goals like he normally would.
But the fact that the Gunners were able to post a 3-0 victory on this soil after some of the nation’s very best could not manage to do so is simply admirable. It is only fitting that the league-leading club in points is the one to arrive and post such an impressive win.
Now we still have to wait and see what Arsenal can do against Man City when they face off next month at the Etihad. That is a game that they are expected to lose, just like they did at Old Trafford against Man United.
Regardless, Arsenal can still go on to win the Premier League for the first time since 2004 if and only if they manage to earn as many points as possible by playing their game.
