PSG hosted Lyon in a game that was absolutely entertaining from the start to the finish; well, for one side at least.
PSG were led by a double from the spot by Zlatan Ibrahimovic while Thiago Silva and Edinson Cavani each netted once in an enthralling 4-0 victory. These three players were as dominant as they almost always are when it comes to French Ligue 1 matches.
Lyon is a team that seems to have lost all of its mojo when it comes to the bigger games. They once won a whopping seven straight league titles when they had players like Juninho, Patrice Evra and Florent Malouda. These guys were dominant back in the day when they were in their prime, but now they ply their trades elsewhere. They do still have some good players on their roster, but they are still growing as their mindsets tell them to be a bit more individual rather than pass the ball around more.
PSG, on the other hand, always know when to pass or shoot when it comes to their veterans as well as their youngsters. Their style of play is what allowed them to win the title, and perhaps they are headed for a repeat this term. As long as their best players stay intact they should have no issues.
Now, they have to focus a bit as well on the Champions League which is a competition that they could easily challenge for a place in the Final later next year in May. They are nowhere near the best side in the competition, but they do have the talent to get there as long as they listen to coach Laurent Blanc who can take them to newer heights.
