Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah is set to create a lot of buzz in the upcoming transfer window as soon as January kicks in.
The FC Basel star, who has already scored 10 goals in 19 contests this year, is widely regarded as the best player on the Swiss champions. There are already plenty of teams knocking the door to see if he will be made available come January.
Several reports that placed the attacking player near the Premier League with Liverpool being interested in his services, but Salah’s agent Sascha Empacher said they aren’t the only side expected to make a strong push for his client. According to Empacher, teams from La Liga and the Bundesliga are also inquiring on Salah.
While it’s unclear if a move will be made in January, this is definitely something Basel needs to capitalize. They are considered a small team across Europe, and their players usually don’t generate much buzz in terms of transfers. If Salah gathers interest around Europe, the Swiss outfit needs to sell him and try to get as much money as possible in any kind of deal.
Salah has already shown he can thrive at Europe’s top level, and he’s clearly a player that’s too good for the Swiss league. Basel should try to capitalize on a transfer in January to receive an important cash influx that would allow them to keep improving the team going forward.
