Predicting the USMNT Starting XI vs. Trinidad and Tobago

A tougher task awaits the USMNT in Port of Spain on Tuesday. The Trinidad and Tobago national football team will have more pace to deal with and will also be coming off a victory in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. Jurgen Klinsmann will make some changes on the road after a 6-1 victory last week.

Brad Guzan got the start on Friday, and Klinsmann insists that Howard is on the same plane as him with the national team. If that is true, Howard will start on Tuesday.

LB - Tim Ream

Ream is showing that he is a good CONCACAF left back option. He is fine staying back rather than joining the break. However, he picks his spots to get forward. Ream will have more of a challenge on Tuesday.

CB - Matt Besler

There is no reason to separate the current center back pairing. Matt Miazga made his senior team debut on Friday, but he will not start in the more challenging match of this current camp. Besler played with freedom on Friday, so that should have built confidence for tomorrow.

Cameron is confident and happy playing center back for the USMNT. He has experience playing away in CONCACAF as well.

RB - Michael Orozco

This is a change from Friday as the right side of the USMNT was at fault for the only goal scored by St. Vincent. Klinsmann will likely start with a defensive lineup, and the lack of real outside backs gives Orozco the nod. He has played on the edge before even though his preferred spot is at center back.

Beckerman may get the nod because Jermaine Jones felt some tightness in his hamstring on Friday. However, Jones also does not shield the back line well anymore and Beckerman will do that. A defensive focus means Beckerman is in.

M - Darlington Nagbe

The chances of Nagbe starting in his second appearance with the USMNT may seem slim, but his pace through the center of the pitch would counteract T&T's wide attack. The game could get chaotic at times, and Nagbe is more used to that than Jermaine Jones or Mix Diskerud. He will also tend to his defensive duties and has recent experience playing away in CONCACAF countries.

LM - Fabian Johnson

Johnson has done well as a facilitator in the attack. He picks his spot and provides another outlet from the center of the field. His runs gave Ream space to deliver crosses on Friday. This is the spot Johnson plays for his club team, so there's no reason to change.

The captain will slot into his familiar role in the center of the pitch. The team will start in a 4-2-3-1.

RM - Gyasi Zardes

Zardes is the new darling for Klinsmann, but he will need to play a little better defense this time around. His first touch and positioning still need work, and the same could be said for DeAndre Yedlin, who is another choice in this role.

F - Jozy Altidore

If Nagbe is going to start to exploit open space in the middle, then the team needs a target forward to hold onto the ball. That will be Altidore's task and scoring a goal would be nice. Bobby Wood has been the most productive USMNT forward of late, but this might not be the game for him to start.
