Megatron turned in one of the best seasons by a wideout in 2011, catching 96 passes for 1,681 yards and 16 touchdowns. He led the league in 40+ yard receptions and captivated the NFL with a big play almost every week.

The deal is the largest ever for a wide receiver, eclipsing the $120 deal Larry Fitzgerald received from the Arizona Cardinals.

He was a huge part of the success of Matthew Stafford, who passed for over 5,000 yards in 2011, one of the three quarterbacks to do so.

With all these receivers inferior to Megatron getting paid, it should not come as a shock to see him get a huge deal.
