Greg Jennings Injury Update
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings will be out a couple weeks with a left knee sprain.
Head coach Mike McCarthy is optimistic that Jennings will be back before the end of the season, but if nothing else he will be ready for the playoffs. Jennings suffered the injury in the second half of a 46-16 win over the Oakland Raiders.
Aaron Rodgers was removed from the game late in the third quarter after Erik Walden’s defensive touchdown.
McCarthy and the Packers have no intentions of slowing down as they head towards the playoffs. Everyone will play and if starters are unable to, backups are expected to fulfill the same duties.
Running back James Starks will be assessed on Wednesday and left tackle Chad Clifton is on pace to return to practice next week as long as there is no other setbacks. A.J. Hawk will return to the field Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs while Desmond Bishop will be close.
Defensive tackle Ryan Pickett and running back Brandon Saine are going through the typical protocol after their concussions from Sunday’s game.
Linebackers Robert Francois and D.J. Smith both received the game ball from Sunday’s victory. Francois recorded an interception along with nine tackles. Smith got an interception of his own and registered ten tackles. Both players have been outstanding the last two weeks filling in for Hawk and Bishop.
