Brian Downing, an Alabama Crimson Tide fan, thought it’d be funny to teabag an LSU Tigers fan by placing his genitals on him back in January. Downing is now paying a hefty fine for his atrocious prank.

This LSU fan was passed out on a restaurant table on Bourbon Street after the BCS national title game when Downing pulled off the slightly disturbing prank by rubbing his genitals on the fan. Unfortunately for the LSU fan, the picture and a YouTube video went viral all over the Internet. But Downing was unlucky as well for the media, as the fan filed a police complaint for the incident.

The crime itself could have been considered sexual battery, which is punishable for up to 10 years and the requirement to register as a sex offender.

Downing plead guilty on Tuesday to two counts of obscenity for sexually taunting the victim. The plea deal results with Downing serving 2 years in prison and he will not be required to register as a sex offender. The official sentencing will take place on November 29th.

The unidentified victim is also attempting to sue Downing for damages of “mental anguish, humiliation, embarrassment, anxiety, depression and damage to his reputation.” The fan also wants a tuition reimbursement, as he withdrew from classes after the situation due to humility.

According to Downing’s attorney, he has lost his job and his family is in a financial dilemma. I bet he never expected any of these difficulties just because of such a mindless prank.

The moral of this story should be to not do anything in public that you wouldn’t want on the Internet. Between cell phones and digital cameras, embarrassing pictures can be posted within minutes of the occurrence.
