Withe the return of the NFL last week, we are now officially in full football mode as many of us now have our Saturdays filled up thanks to watching and enjoying NCAA Football and our Sundays jam packed thanks courtesy of the NFL. In terms of betting, the first week in the NFL was one where if you took all the underdogs, you were going to end up winning as all but two games were decided by a touchdown or less. This has prompted some serious overreaction in a few of the NFL lines for this upcoming weekend.
Aside from the NFL, there are a number of great games and sporting events which you can decide to place a bet or two on that will be taking place. In college football, the much anticipated showdown between Alabama and Texas A&M will take place at Kyle Field on Saturday afternoon in a revenge game for Nick Saban and his team while Johnny Manziel aka Johnny Football will try to lead his team to another win over Alabama.
As if all the football action were not enough, on Saturday night we have a mega fight in boxing as Floyd Mayweather takes on Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in a fight of two undefeated fighters in a pay per view card that also has a great undercard fight where Lucas Matthysse will take on Danny Garica. Also, there are a few great matchups in European soccer highlighted by the Derby d’Italia between Inter and Juventus to be played on Saturday.
Last week was a mixed bag for me in terms of picking games as I went 2-3 in my against the spread (ATS) picks while I went 3-2 in my straight-up picks and I also hit on one of my bonus picks. That takes my record to 6-4 in my ATS picks while I am 8-2 in my straight up picks.
