These 15 athletes annoy the media, fellow players and fans alike by repeatedly going out of their way to gain attention, and the world would be better off if they kept their thoughts to themselves.
Rodriguez is in the midst of a season-long suspension handed to him by MLB, but he can't seem to stay out of the newspapers. The New York Yankees' third baseman seems to have a need to get attention, whether it is positive or negative, but the world wishes he would just shut up.
Sherman publicly antagonizes every defensive back and cornerback in the league, and he has yet to have anyone shut him up on the field. But the 26-year-old's routine is starting to get old, and it would be nice if he focused more on actually playing football than talking trash.
Maradona has not played soccer since 1997 and has not coached since 2012, but he never passes up a chance to publicly comment against Lionel Messi, or any other player who is obviously an all-time great. Most of the world wishes he would just go into his house and shut up.
Manziel has yet to play in a regular season NFL game, but gets attention and talks like he is Tom Brady. Suffice to say, this angers fellow NFL players, who will soon let the wild quarterback know why most of the greats keep their mouths shut.
Stewart has never backed down from an altercation on the race track or off of it, which wears out opposing fans and only perpetuates hate. It would be nice if the racer would back off for a while, and just let his racing do the talking.
Stephenson is that guy who attempts to pick on the big guy in class, but has nothing to back himself up. This played a big role in Stephenson not re-signing with the Indiana Pacers, which will hopefully go a long way towards him avoiding the press this fall.
Braun has been labelled one of the biggest frauds in professional sports for his PED use, but he has never really shown any public remorse. While the guy is free to suit up for the Milwaukee Brewers, the world would be better off if he avoided speaking his mind.
Howard is one of the nicest guys in the NBA, but he almost seems to be more focused on being happy than actually winning an NBA title. The man known as "Superman" would be better off working hard in private before he makes any outlandish comments.
Harper has had some struggles in his third MLB season, but that hasn't seemed to stop his cocky comments to reporters or ability to anger opposing players. At only 21 years old, Harper has a long career ahead, but he would be best off shutting his mouth and reaching his potential first.
After all the deception about his PED use, Lance Armstrong really has no business saying anything, let alone trying to make a profit of his lies.
Ochocinco is stuck playing in the CFL, but he continues to be a nuisance on social media. At this point, it would be nice if the guy stayed off ESPN and social media, because he will not be a relevant sports figure on the field ever again.
McCants has recently come out with some damaging accusations about the UNC basketball program, but rumors that he was being paid to lie have damaged the 29-year-old's reputation. After failing in the NBA, most people thought they had heard the last of McCants, and the world can only hope that he gets the hint to shut up.
Barton is known to antagonize opposing players, coaches and executives, but the QPR midfielder has never had the talent to really back it up on the field. The 31-year-old may have a future on television, but until retirement hits, it would be best if he focused on playing rather than talking trash.
Rodman has angered the American public by taking multiple trips to North Korea, and then going on a drunken rant about how Kim Jong-un is really a nice guy. Rodman has never been especially beloved by the public, and it really would be great if he kept his thoughts to himself.
Canseco has not been a MLB-worthy player since the 1990s, but he continues to play independent league baseball, and call out players who he thought used PEDs. The 50-year-old hasn't really provided any thoughts worth anyone's time in many years, and it is time he stays out of the public eye.
