Owned by Bollywood actor John Abraham and I-League club Shillong Lajong, NorthEast United FC will represent the North Eastern region of India. Based at Guwhati, the club will play its home matches at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium. Known for its football prowess through Indian football legend Baichung Bhutia, the region is excited for the new tournament.
