Zimbabwe enters the 2015 Cricket World Cup knowing they may not be favored by any means, but still ready to compete for fans that have wholeheartedly stood by their team.

“We know very well that we are not a big team at the World Cup so, as fans, we are not going to ask the team to win the World Cup, or to finish in the top eight,” Zimbabwe Cricket Supporters Association chairman Vivian Banhire said. “All we need is for them to be competitive against bigger opposition and top sides. As cricket fans, we are 90% happy with what ZC has been doing lately. They have shown a lot of seriousness by engaging an experienced coach such as Dav Whatmore who has won the World Cup before and also bringing in Alistair Campbell into the set up. We are happy with all that they are promising. Hopefully they will deliver this time.”

This is a list of the Zimbabwe squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup to be held from February 14 to March 29, 2015:

  • Regis Chakabva (wk)

  • Tendai Chatara

  • Chamu Chibhabha

  • Elton Chigumbura (capt)

  • Craig Ervine

  • Tafadzwa Kamungozi

  • Hamilton Masakadza

  • Stuart Matsikenyeri

  • Solomon Mire

  • Tawanda Mupariwa

  • Tinashe Panyangara

  • Sikandar Raza

  • Brendan Taylor (wk)

According to BBC Sport, “teams were required to name a 30-man provisional squad before finalising a 15-strong squad for the competition by 7 January. Injured players can only be replaced with special dispensation from the International Cricket Council.”
