2013 Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: LW Chris Kreider

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

There aren’t many wingers out there on the fantasy hockey wire really worth picking up anymore. The wire has been picked clean over the first couple weeks of the season and most of the steady contributors have already ended up on someone’s team by this point.

One player worth taking a shot on right now, though, is LW Chris Kreider of the New York Rangers. The speedster has been fine-tuning his skills in the AHL for years and the time in Hartford has truly paid off for the forward. Kreider finally appears ready to take the next step in his professional career.

The 22-year-old has racked up seven points this season, including six points (two goals/four assists) over the last five games alone. Kreider has also played in nine straight contests for the Rangers and the prospect has earned a full-time job in the league. The youngster is showing true flashes of his superstar potential.

Kreider is still available in over 53% of leagues at the moment and the forward will be a great pickup for anyone needing a left winger. He has been steadily showing up in the box score, and it is about time fantasy owners started to get him into their starting lineup. If he is still sitting on the wire, you know what to do.
