Cleveland Browns’ Defense the Perfect Fantasy Football Week 16 Waiver Wire Addition

Welcome to the final two weeks of the fantasy football season. If you made it to your league’s championship, congratulations. If not, there’s always next year. For those of you still alive, waiver wire advice is still relevant. The trade deadline may have passed but not for adding and dropping players.

By now you’ve heard the cliches: “Start you studs.” “Dance with who brought you.” “Don’t get cute.” And I agree. At this point in the season, you have to start your highest-rated players and their ability to score 15-20 points, which is why you should add the Cleveland Browns‘ defense this week.

The Browns are tied as the ninth-best fantasy defense this season. This is coming off the heels of a 14-point performance against the Chicago Bears. The Browns picked off Jay Cutler two times, bringing their total to four over the last three games. They also scored two touchdowns.

The Browns’ next opponent for Week 16 is the New York Jets. This is a perfect matchup for owners looking for a good defense. The Jets do not have a passing game. Jeremy Kerley is the best wide receiver for the team, ranked 68th overall. Geno Smith has played decent over the last couple games, but that will come to a halt in Week 16. Joe Haden will not have a hard time covering the Jets’ best receiver, whoever it may be.

If the Browns can shut down Chris IvoryBilal Powell and the running game, they will force Smith to throw. Smith has thrown 21 interceptions this season and had seven multi-interception games. If you do not have a top-five defense then put in a claim for the Browns.
